BEFORE YOU START

  • Scented oils, and candle placement in your power place of meditation will prove very useful and aid in creating a tranquil environment

  • Try to shower before you meditate. If you don't have time, wash your face and hands

  • Try to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing

  • Meditate in a clean and quiet place.

  • The mind will waiver, and you'll think a million thoughts, but each time bring your mind back to the point of concentration.

  • Yantras are designs of power that tap into other levels of attention, like a candle flame. Pick an object to concentrate on for part of your meditation

So we begin with Prayer

My Divine Lord make me a channel of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me bring your love,
Where there is injury your pardon Lord,
And where there’s doubt true faith in you.

Divine Lord Make me a channel of your peace,
Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope,
Where there is darkness, let me bring light,
And where there’s sadness, let me bring joy.

Divine Lord grant that I may never seek,
to be consoled as to console,
That I may never seek to be understood as to understand,
That I may never seek to be loved as to love with all my soul.

My Divine Lord make me a channel of your peace,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
It is in giving of ourselves that we receive.
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

My Divine Lord make me a channel of your peace

The 3 Stages of Meditation

  • The first stage of meditation is simply to ignore thought; to become conscious that there is something beyond thought. Your mind is turbulent because you're filled with desires and frustrations. It is necessary to overcome both attraction and aversion to still the mind.

  • The second stage of meditation begins when you can successfully stop thought for long periods of time. At this point you move beyond the awareness of this world.

  • The third stage is no thought. No thought is not the end of meditation. It is the beginning of higher meditation. When your mind is tranquil and at peace with the universe, when it has become void of all thought - you become meditation.

There should be a point where you let go. By disciplining and training the mind to focus on one thing, we gain control of perception; we learn to grab it and put it where we want it to be.

  • Sit and meditate a couple of times a day, even if its only for a few minutes. What you want to do is work on the quality of your meditation and not worry about increasing the time

  • Morning: Meditate as soon as you get up.  Your mind is most receptive at this time. When you meditate in the morning you pick up a lot of energy, focus, and awareness that will be with you throughout the day.

  • Evening: It's very easy to meditate at sunset. There is a doorway that opens between the worlds at the time of the setting sun. So Try to meditate before you start your evening

  • Having a hard time focusing: Practice breathing in and out. Use enlightened music to quiet the mind.

  •  A Mantra is a word with a powerful vibration, like Aum.  It helps you bring the awareness of the meditation into your daily life. Chanting a mantra at the beginning of your meditation helps to clear the mind and take you deep within the self. Once again, chanting a mantra at the end of meditating helps you seal the meditation.

  • When you chant, Extend the sound. Focus your awareness on the sound and become absorbed in it.

  • We need all three aspects – power, balance and wisdom – to develop as a being. Focus on one of these three chakras each day

Remember: Never judge your meditations. At the end of each meditation session, bow your head toward the ground. Give your meditation away to eternity.
